Kullu – Manali – Chandigarh (6 Days / 5 Nights)

Itinerary:

Day 1:

Arrive in Chandigarh by morning flight. Pick-up from the airport & proceed to Kullu. Have authentic Punjabi Dhaba food on the way. Check-in at the resort in Kullu & relax for the evening.

Day 2:

Kullu – Local sightseeing

• Bijli Mahadev Temple

This temple is located on a hill called Mathan and is surrounded by valleys. The name comes from the fact that lightning strikes the Shiv Linga inside the temple and shatters into pieces. It is joined together later on a special occasion. One can reach the temple after a trek of around 3 kms.

• Manikaran Hot Springs

Manikaran is a pilgrimage centre for Hindus and Sikhs. The Hindus believe that Manu recreated human life in Manikaran after the flood, thus making it a sacred area. The area is well known for its hot springs and a beautiful landscape.

• Gurudwara Shri Manikaran Sahib

It is a historical Sikh shrine located in Manikaran where Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had stayed with the Sikhs and performed miracles.

• Dechen Choekhor Mahavihara

This place is dedicated to Tibetan Buddhism and is extremely beautiful and colourful with a breathtaking view of the Beas valley.

• Vaishnodevi Temple

The temple, commonly known as the Mahadevi Tirthankaras, is named after Goddess Parvati. One can watch the wonderful forests, apple orchards and majestic hills on the way.

Proceed to Manali after sightseeing for overnight stay.

Day 3:

Explore the following places in & around Manali:

• Solang Valley

Solang Valley lies between Solang village and Beas Kund. It offers a beautiful view of glaciers and snow capped mountains. Since the valley has fine ski slopes, it is a perfect place for skiing. Also explore the ropeway in Solang and indulge in snow sport activities (December – April season)

• Vashishta Temple & Hot Springs

A pair of temples stand here, one dedicated to Lord Ram and one to Sage Vashishta. It is also a place for hot springs, which rose after the sage fired an arrow in the ground, believed to have medicinal properties.

• Hidimba Devi Temple

Also known as Dhungiri Temple, it is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhim. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest and is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground.

• Manu Temple

This magnificent temple is dedicated to Sage Manu, who is said to be the creator of the world and this is where he had meditated after stepping on earth.

• Museum of Himalayan Culture & Folk Art

The Museum has an admirable collection of rare and almost extinct articles. The items exhibited here highlight the traditional way of life of the Himachal people.

• Shopping in Mall Road

Head to Mall Road to shop some of Manali’s exotic souvenirs like Apple pickles, shawls, designer rugs, handicrafts, saffron etc.

Day 4:

After breakfast, leave for Rohtang Pass tour. Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass located in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. It is at an elevation of 3,978 metres. The pass lies between the Chenab & Beas basins.

Rohtang Pass tour by local Manali taxi. Return to Manali by late afternoon. Relax for the evening or go to Mall road for shopping.

Day 5:

Check out from Hotel after breakfast & proceed to Chandigarh. Overnight hotel stay at Chandigarh.

Day 6:

Check out from Hotel after breakfast. Visit Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, Natural History Museum in Chandigarh. Proceed to airport for return flight / train.

Note: Shimla (2N) can added along with this tour based on your requirements.
