Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrive in Chandigarh by  / Train. Pickup from Chandigarh & proceed to Reckong Peo. Overnight stay at Kalpa.

Day 2:

Explore Kalpa monastery, Roghi village & Suicide Point.

Day 3:

After breakfast, leave for Tabo village in Spiti. Visit Gue Mummy at Gue village on the way.

Explore 1000 year old Tabo monastery, caves nearby Tabo village & Apple / Apricot Orchards at the Horticulture university.

Proceed to Dhangkar Gompa Monastery. The complex is built on a 1000-foot (300-metre) high spur overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers – one of the world’s most spectacular settings for a gompa. Dhang or dang means cliff, and kar or khar means fort. Hence Dhangkar means fort on a cliff.

Experience a short hike to visit the beautiful small Dhangkar Lake.

Overnight stay at Kaza.

Day 5:

Visit Kaza Monastery, Key Monastery & Kibber, the remotest village of India – Tashigang village.

Day 6:

Day trip to visit the beautiful villages of Hikkim (the World’s Highest Post office), Komic (Monastery) & Langza (Buddha Statue) & amazing views all around.

Overnight stay at a homestay in Langza.

Day 7:

After breakfast, leave for Chandrataal Lake via Losar & Kunzum La Pass (4590m). Visit the beautiful moon lake. Camp for the night.

Day 8:

Drive from Chandrataal to Manali. 

Day 9:

Leave for Chandigarh. Proceed to airport / station for return or train.

Season: May – September (Avoid monsoon month of August as road blockages are common in this route)
