Day 1 – Hanoi
Explore Hanoi city sights during the day:
Hoan Kiem Lake – Most well-known landmark of Hanoi aka Turtle lake.
Ngoc Son Temple – Called as the Temple of the Jade Mountain, it is connected to the shore by a picturesque red bridge called The Huc Bridge.
St. Joseph’s Cathedral – Oldest cathedral in Hanoi.
Hoa Lo Prison Museum – Prison where American POWs were held during Vietnam War. Communal jail cells, solitary cells & the guillotine used by the French is on display here.
Take a selfie on Train Street – Find clusters of cafes at different sections of the track and observe a train passing by.
Temple of Literature – Confucian temple where philosophy of Confucianism & literature was taught.
Vietnam Military History Museum/Hanoi Flag Tower – This museum houses tanks, artillery, aircraft and other relics of war and you can climb the Flag Tower.
Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre – A 50 minute show of ancient art form of Vietnamese water puppetry. Timings: 5 shows between 3 pm & 8 pm. You can catch the one at 6:30 pm.
Bia Hoi Corner – Junction with a lively mix of foreigners and locals drinking cheap draft beer and Vietnamese street food on tiny plastic stools. Try only 1 or 2 glasses and then switch to bottled beer.
Hanoi Old Town Quarter – Commercial heartbeat of the town
Day 2 – Ha Long Bay Day Tour
Day trip to Halong Bay. Arrive at Tuan Chau Harbor and board the 5 Star Cruise.
Enjoy welcome drink and a special Vietnamese cuisine lunch. The cruise will pass through beautiful scenery on both sides with thousands of limestone cliffs such as Fighting Chicken and Incense Burner Islets – 2 Symbols of Halong Bay.
Arrive at Bo Hon Island. Here you’ll visit Sung Sot Cave – the most beautiful cave with a lot of stalagmites and stalactites. Proceed for Kayaking or Bamboo Boat through Luon Cave to discover the beautiful lagoon.
Visit Titop Island, an island with sandy beach. You can go swimming here or trek up the top of the island for amazing views of Halong Bay.
Back to the cruise for the sunset party (Wine, Tea, Fruits & Biscuits). Return to the harbor by evening 6:00 pm. Proceed to Hanoi & drop at the hotel by evening.
Day 3 – Ninh Binh Day Tour
Visit Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel with King Dinh Temple dating back to the 17th Century.
Enjoy the Vietnamese lunch at a restaurant with great local cuisines
Take sampan boat trip which owned and rowed by locals, gently sailing along Ngo Dong River, capturing the wonderful scenery of Karst hills, rice fields, and peaceful villages, and passing “Hang Ca”, “Hang Hai” and “Hang Ba”.
Arrive at Mua Cave and start an amazing trek up to the top of Ngoa Long Mountain for watching the spectacular rice valley with precious view of the nature.
Return to Hanoi by evening. Take an overnight train from Hanoi to Dong Hoi.
Day 4 – Phong Nha Caves
Arrive in Dong Hoi by morning. Pickup from railway station & proceed to Phong Nha.
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is noted for its 300 caves and grotto systems. Phong Nha Cave was regarded by British Caving Association as the top cave in the world due to its top four records: the longest underground river, the highest and longest cave, broadest and most beautiful fine sand beaches inside the caves, and the most spectacular stalagmites and stalactites.
Phong Nha Cave isaccessible by a boat ride on the Son River. Check at the homestay where to buy the entry tickets at Tourist Information Center.
Mooc Spring – Located 5 kms before Paradise cave is a great place to do kayaking, swimming in blue waters
Paradise Cave (Thien Duong Cave) is considered the Underground Royal Palace. This beautiful wonder has the magnificent beauty of stalactites and stalagmites, evoking a rich imagination. With a length of 31.4 km and a height of 60m, Paradise cave is the longest dry cave with the longest wooden bridge in Asia. You can do a 1km walk inside the cave and return.
Day 5 – Phong Nha
Explore the countryside of Phong Nha by hiring a bicycle / bike. Proceed to Dong Hoi railway station by afternoon for train to Da Nang.
Arrive at Da Nang by late evening.
Day 6 – Ba Na Hills Tour
Proceed to Ba Na Hills Theme Park. Take the Cable Car to reach the top of the hill. Check-out the panorama of Quang Nam Da Nang City.
Visit the Golden Bridge – most exotic structure & also the world’s most prominent pedestrian bridges. Visit the French Wine Cellar, Le Jardin D’amourn, Linh Ung Pagoda. Continue to the 2nd cable car to visit the French village. Have buffet lunch at the restaurant.
Take the Lava train from Sun Kingdom to attractions like Helios Waterfall, Time Gate and the Moon Kingdom. Take the return cable car.
Return to Da Nang city by evening. Visit the following sights in Da Nang:
Dragon Bridge – Arches styled as a golden dragon illuminated at night on a weekend. (Time: 9 pm)
Love Bridge – A few steps away from Dragon Bridge, inspired by the famous love lock bridges around the world. Surrounded by restaurants and pubs.
Day 7 – Da Nang & Hoi An
Explore the following sights in Da Nang:
Marble Mountains – Network of 5 marble mountains with multiple caves, elaborate temples & viewing outlooks
My Khe & Non Nuoc Beaches – Scenic beaches stretching 20 miles long with pristine white sands.
Shopping in Han Market – You can also have authentic Vietnamese breakfast at this market.
Proceed to Hoi An town by afternoon.
Thanh Ha Pottery Village – One of Vietnam’s oldest pottery villages, 23 households of potters still manually shape pottery without using molds. Thanh Ha is also known for its signature noodle dish and scenic boat rides.
Basket Boat Ride along Thu Bon River – You can visit the Cam Thanh Coconut Village for this unique experience of boating in round basket boats and engage in fishing, crab catching or rowing the boat.
An Bang Beach – Most happening beaches in Hoi An with a sandy stretch of fine sand and many seafood and souvenir stalls on the beach
Japanese Covered Bridge – Also known as Cau Temple, this is the only ancient bridge in Hoi An and known for its romantic vibes and magnificent Japanese architecture.
Hoi An Ancient Town – It is a small city located within the much larger town of Hoi An lined with ancient houses, designer boutiques, museums and coffee shops.
Central Market – Located in Tran Phu, it occupies a traditional Vietnamese building with 3 sections selling clothes, produce and souvenirs.
Hoi An Night Market (opens at 6 pm) – It is all about pretty Vietnamese souvenirs, delicious food and hundreds of stunning lanterns illuminating the entire street.
Day 8 – Return
Take afternoon return from Danang to your destination.
